White Desi Vaal is a white-seeded selection of Lablab purpureus, a species also known as hyacinth bean. This packet contains 10 or more seeds for planting. The plant has a climbing or sprawling habit and benefits from a trellis, fence, or other sturdy support in the garden.

The vines develop trifoliate foliage and may produce purple or white flowers followed by flat pods. Mature seeds of this selection are pale white to cream. Lablab purpureus is best suited to warm growing conditions, full sun, and well-drained soil. A fertile sandy or loamy bed can be prepared with compost before sowing.

Sow seeds about 3 to 4 cm deep after the soil has warmed. Space plants about 20 to 30 cm apart, with additional room between rows for access and airflow. Keep the seed bed evenly moist during germination, avoiding saturated soil. Under warm conditions, emergence is commonly observed in about 7 to 10 days, but timing depends on temperature, moisture, and other local conditions.

Water established vines moderately, especially while they are flowering and setting pods. Mulch can reduce moisture loss and weed competition. Avoid crowding the foliage in humid weather. In frost-prone areas, grow this warm-climate legume as an annual and allow enough season for vine development. No germination rate or harvest date is guaranteed.
